Ecosystem services are benefits generated by ecosystems that sustain human life, including climate regulation, carbon storage, forest regeneration, and the maintenance of biodiversity. Many of these processes depend directly on interactions between plants and animals.

Our group investigates how seed dispersal, frugivory, and ecological networks influence ecosystem functioning and the maintenance of these services over time. We seek to understand how environmental changes and biodiversity loss can trigger cascading effects that impact ecological stability and human well-being.

By integrating ecology, modeling, and network science, we develop approaches to understand how different species and interactions contribute to the resilience of tropical ecosystems. These studies help connect biodiversity, conservation, and sustainability in the context of global environmental change.
