Teaching and Training
Our group understands teaching as a fundamental part of building scientific knowledge about frugivory, seed dispersal, and biodiversity. Beyond academic production, we seek to create collaborative learning environments, integrating students of different levels in research activities, scientific discussion, and the development of projects related to plant-animal interactions.
We also value technical and interdisciplinary training, promoting education in ecology, evolution, data analysis, modeling, open science, and the synthesis of scientific information applied to the study of frugivory and seed dispersal. Our goal is to contribute to the training of professionals capable of acting critically and in an integrated manner in the contemporary challenges of conservation, ecological restoration, and sustainability.

Course on Frugivory and Seed Dispersal
The Frugivory and Seed Dispersal Course is an initiative dedicated to the training and integration of students and researchers interested in plant-animal interactions. Held since 2001, the course brings together participants from different institutions and countries, establishing itself as an important space for scientific exchange, collaborative learning, and training in tropical ecology.
The course combines theoretical and practical activities focused on the study of frugivory, seed dispersal, ecological networks, conservation, and restoration of biodiversity. Throughout its editions, it has contributed to the training of hundreds of students and to the strengthening of an international research network in the ecology of interactions, promoting integration between different areas of knowledge and bringing science, fieldwork, and conservation closer together.

Launched in 2026, the Online Lecture Series was created with the goal of expanding the exchange of knowledge and strengthening integration among different research groups dedicated to the study of frugivory, seed dispersal, and the ecology of interactions.
The series brings together researchers and students from institutions in Brazil and abroad to discuss current topics related to ecology, evolution, and biodiversity conservation, focusing on ecological interactions.
The lectures are open to the public and serve as an ongoing space for training, scientific updating, and interdisciplinary dialogue. In addition to bringing together different lines of research and promoting new collaborations, the initiative contributes to expanding access to scientific knowledge and strengthening collaborative networks in ecology and biodiversity conservation.
