Outreach
Open Science
Our group develops initiatives aimed at organizing, integrating, and making publicly available data on ecological interactions, focusing on frugivory and seed dispersal. Through the consolidation of open databases, we seek to expand access to information on biodiversity, ecological networks, and functional characteristics of species in tropical ecosystems.
These initiatives follow principles of open science and knowledge sharing, promoting transparency, reproducibility, and scientific collaboration. By making data freely available, we contribute to the development of new research, the training of students, and applications in conservation, ecological restoration, and biodiversity management.
Extension, Science Communication and Citizen Science
Our group also develops actions aimed at bridging the gap between science and society, promoting science outreach activities and citizen science initiatives related to tropical biodiversity. These actions seek to broaden access to knowledge about frugivory, seed dispersal, and the importance of ecological interactions for the functioning of ecosystems.
These initiatives include collaborative projects to record interactions between plants and animals, as well as lectures, seminars, and educational activities aimed at different audiences. By bringing researchers, students, and civil society together, we seek to strengthen the appreciation of biodiversity and encourage public participation in the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
